WHAT DO WE DO?

One Maidstone BID exists for the benefit of Maidstone Town Centre. We are voted in by the businesses within the town, who all pay a levy fee. All levy contributions are collected into a communal pot which funds the various services that we carry out. These services improve the safety, security, footfall and vitality of our town centre - for the benefit of the businesses and the local community.

How long have you been the BID for Maidstone?

The town centre businesses voted “yes” for Term 1 in 2018 for 5 years. In June 2023, the businesses in Maidstone Town Centre voted “yes” to a new term of 5 years from October 2023 to September 2028.

What is the BID boundary?

We operate, and are responsible for the area within our boundary.

MARKETING

We take advantage of every opportunity that we can, through digital print and radio, to spread the word about Maidstone Town Centre. We also have a wide social media presence (organically reaching nearly 1 million accounts in 2022-2023) where we offer our levy businesses a free instagram reels service and consistently share promotional activities.

Our Business Crime Reduction Partnership is an important programme that connects businesses and security teams across the town centre. This town wide cooperative approach to security is possible because of the radios and the ambassador team that One Maidstone BID provide.

ABOUT OUR TEAM

We’re a small team but we get a lot done. We have our office-based team who are responsible for the running of the BID and all our services, and we have our Business Crime Manager supported by the Ambassador team who you will see patrolling the streets of Maidstone Town Centre daily.
